Dead Posh Mole x Lucas Grogan Artist Edition Bike

To quote Lucas, he is "despondent without being smug or smarmy about it and uses his acerbic sense of humour like a cat-o-nine-tails with bells on the end."

We delved into this further by asking him a few burning questions:

How would you describe your work?
Ahh like micro-poems with fastidious patterning.

What does a typical day look like to you?
Getting woken up by our 2 year old Dalmatian rescue - Hero - at 5am asking to go to the toilet. Then off to the studio to try and get stuff done.

Have you got any exciting projects coming up we can keep an eye out for?
Yeah, apart from the normal group and solo shows coming up, I'm pretty excited about my solo exhibition LONG STORY SHORT that opens Feb 2020 at Maitland Regional Art Gallery. That's my hometown and will be sort of a 'best of' of my work to date. Really looking forward to seeing it all together for the first time.

You have worked in so many different formats. Is there any other item, space, medium you'd love to see your artwork come to life on?
I've been offered some really great pools to paint over the years, however this can't really be done as the specific paints wouldn't hold over a long period. Still I'd love to design the tiling for one day. Oh and I'd love to design something for the Sydney Harbour Bridge for NYE one year. I think that'd be amazing. Imagine Good One written in lights across the bridge with fireworks going off all around it.
